I’m Kyle. I like to write, but I generally just write mundanely melodramatic things about my day. This blog is supposed to encourage me to write more creatively epic things, in the hopes that every so often, I come up with something more beautiful than terrible. It’s a ridiculous exercise. Therefore, the blog’s title is a reference to an old article in The Onion which bears a poem called “The Purple Lake of Desolation” and the headline “Children of Divorce Twice as Likely to Write Bad Poetry.”
